Tuam Cortoon Ladies Football Club

Tuam Cortoon Ladies Football Club is a young club that has been serving the communities of Tuam and Cortoon for nearly 15 years. The Club provides a social outlet and healthy activity for our players and members.

The Club strives to be a modern, innovative and a well-run club that provides a quality and safe framework and a support system for all our players, from a 6-year-old kicking her first ball to an elite player scoring her first point in Croke Park.

Today, Tuam Cortoon Ladies boasts a membership of nearly 200 players from ages 6 and upwards and, as an inclusive club, we always welcome new members.

Our Club has enjoyed tremendous success since our foundation and in recent years has enjoyed team success at County, Provincial and National levels.

In 2018 the Club entered teams at U10, U12, U14, U16, Minor and Adult league and championship competitions and for the very first time we fielded a “Gaelic for Mothers and Others” team.

The Club has made a major contribution to Galway inter-county teams and several Tuam Cortoon players have won All-Ireland and Provincial honours wearing the maroon jersey.

Club History

Tuam Cortoon LGFA Club was formed in 2004 following the amalgamation of Tuam Stars Ladies and Cortoon Shamrocks Ladies Football Clubs.

Up to the amalgamation, Tuam Stars Ladies & Cortoon Ladies were struggling to field teams and it made total sense for both clubs to come together and form Tuam Cortoon LGFA Club.

The amalgamation has been a huge success with the Club growing from strength to strength with membership numbers continually on the rise.

The Club contested a Senior County Championship Final in 2007 and has won the Connacht Junior Championship on two occasions. In 2017 the Club won the Connacht and All-Ireland 7-a-side titles.
